Flying IFR with a crew of one.
Tips, tricks, and traps for flying IFR with no one in the right seat. Single pilot Resource Management (SRM), Aeronautical Decision Making (ADM), work load management and scan patterns that actually work.
The crew at Pacific Aerocademy, the San Jose FSDO FAASTeam, and Abrams Aviation Seminars invite area pilots and CFIs to attend this informative seminar on managing the challenges of single pilot IFR operations. The presenter will be Fred Abrams, owner of Abrams Aviation Seminars. Fred is a nationally known aviation lecturer, humorist, veteran instrument instructor, volunteer FAASTeam Representative, and former Air Force KC-135 simulator operator. Fred will share knowledge he has gained from almost 50 years of experience helping pilots develop proficiency in IFR flight. Fred will discuss strategies designed to manage the challenges of IFR flight with a crew of one. Learn why the conventional advice of “Aviate, Navigate, and Communicate” does not often work as well as expected. Learn how professional pilots lessen the risks associated with IFR flight.
With the knowledge obtained from this seminar, pilots will be able to reduce the stress and work load associated with flight in IMC. You will discover what SRM means to the general aviation pilot and how it can make all flying operations safer, more comfortable and enjoyable for both pilot and passengers. Increase your knowledge while having fun at the same time. If you can attend only one seminar in 2008, make this the one! It will help you become a safer (and older) instrument pilot.
